Life gives us many challenges and opportunities and the one thing that is certain is that we are born and we must die, but death, that uncertain door that leads ahead has been for man a awesome mystery. Life's greatest test comes with the death of a loved one and without faith in the immortality of the soul the separation at death looms forever comfortless. For reasons unknown to all, Heavenly Father has called Kayden home. Another reason this incident has hit close to home for us is that outside of Kaydens immediate family, Jesse was one of his most trusted friends and a great example and just a week before Jesse purchased a baseball mitt so he could play catch with Kayden and the day of this tragic accident they were riding bikes together and as Jesse turned to look at him he was struck by a vehicle. Jesse cradled him in his arms to give any comfort he could but later that day Kayden passed away. So many tears were shed, so much emptiness and loss. The strength comes from knowing that after death as our mortal body lies in the earth, our spirit self continues to live, being eternal, and our memory of this life will remain with us, and the knowledge of our life before birth will be restored. Through death we emerge into a place of reawakening and find loved ones who have passed on before, waiting to welcome us. Since Kayden's passing, his family has had many spiritual experiences, and for the Knight family, we have the assurance that we are here not by accident or chance but as a part of a glorious everlasting plan and a knowledge that God our Eternal Father guides the affairs of his children.

That uncertain door that leads ahead
It's been some time since i've posted anything on our blog and what i'm about to post comes with a heavy heart and condolences. Jesse's girlfriend Camille and her family lost their brother, 12 year old Kayden in a tragic accident on May 28, 2008. This accident has hit close to home for us for several reasons as we have been blessed to know Kayden and other members of their family in the last year.

How Sad! Death definately is hard to understand but, as you said, the gospel reassures us of our place after this life. We sure hope that both families will allow the healing power of our Savior to comfort them. Our tho'ts & prayers will be with you.
Jesse and Camille (and her family) have been on my mind and in my prayers. I hope and pray that everyone will be able to feel peace throughout the mourning and healing process!
