We went to California this past week to watch Derek race in the national cycling championship at the Homedepot veladrome. Derek's mother Chris came to support him and it was great to finally meet her. Derek participated in 2 days of racing. This has to be one of the most intense sports i've ever seen doing 40 - 60 laps around this track and averaging more than 30 mph. Great job Derek!
